Higher Education Commission issues guidelines to universities across the country to attract students to "Satu" and "Lucy"


 The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has directed universities across the country to promote other local beverages, including sattu and lassi, instead of tea.

According to private TV channel Geo News, a letter written by Dr. Shaista Sohail, Acting Director, HEC, to the Vice Chancellors and Rectors of all public and private universities stated that It is suggested to increase consumption.

The letter from the HEC suggested that tea production be promoted locally, which would significantly reduce the cost of tea in the National Import Bill.

In addition, the Commission has recommended reducing the import of fossil fuels, emphasizing the need to promote research into alternative energy sources as an alternative to imported fossil fuels used in motorcycles, cars, buses and trains. Finally, the HEC proposes to reduce the import of edible oils, emphasizing the need to promote research into local coking oils and marketing them to replace imported edible oils.
